Background
Adam is a Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and currently completing his PhD at Newcastle University. He joined the University in September 2022 with a broad experience of working as a pharmacist throughout primary and secondary care settings. Registered with the General Pharmaceutical council, Adam has worked throughout the North-East and cultured a passion for developing the role of a pharmacist within hospitals, striving to embed the skills that the profession provides to facilitate and maximise the care of patients in the NHS.
Teaching
Adam works with the Pharmacy Practice team to prepare students for life as a pharmacist. He supervises student lead clinics during which they have the opportunity to meet and interact with patients from within the local community. These sessions enable our students to gain first hand interactions and practical experience of some basic procedures, as well as providing a broad opportunity of learning. He encourages students to reflect on their experiences and their consultations during these sessions. In addition, Adam, also lecturers throughout all stages of the MPharm course, topics of note include Cardiology to Stage 2, Medications in gestation and sexual health to Stage 3 and regular clinical supervision sessions.
Research
Adam is currently completing his PhD at Newcastle University, which is investigating deprescribing.
