Supporting students who are required to self-isolate on arrival in the UK (Quarantine).
Support from the University for those arriving from Jan 4th 2021 onwards
Due to the Government announcement on Jan 4th 2021 regarding the Covid-19 restrictions in the UK we have suspended our meet and greet service for students arriving for the 2020-21 academic year. Students are asked not to travel to Newcastle unless they already have a flight booked that cannot be changed or they would incur additional costs to change the flight date.
If you do travel to Newcastle and need to self-isolate (quarantine) on arrival, you can access support from the University.
Before you travel
Before you travel please be aware of the following:
You must complete a passenger locator form in the 48 hour period before you travel to the UK. You will be asked to show proof that you have completed this form when you arrive at the UK border.
If you have any medication you need to take, make sure you bring enough for both your 10 day quarantine period, and for an additional period in case you need to self-isolate for longer.

Students who are travelling to Newcastle during this time are asked to complete the Arrival Information Form with their current travel arrangements. They will then be contacted to discuss how we can assist them to their accommodation.
If you will be arriving at another UK airport we also have information to help you plan your onward journey.
When you arrive in the UK you should travel directly to the accommodation where you will be self-isolating.
If you use public transport to get to your accommodation, please familiarise yourself with the government guidelines for using public transport safely. Cover your nose and mouth and stay 2 metres apart from other people.
If you have a long journey within the UK to arrive at your self-isolation accommodation you can stop overnight in safe accommodation before continuing your journey. You must self-isolate and provide the address of your overnight stop on your passenger locator form in addition to your declared accommodation address in Newcastle.
To access support from the University whilst you are self-isolating please complete this online form as soon as possible.
