Businesses to talk to the global business leaders of tomorrow
Published on: 22 October 2018
Businesses hoping to attract top graduates will be taking part in a week of activities at Newcastle University Business School to help students stand out in the global graduate employment market.
Careers insight
Employers including KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, P&G, Sage, HSBC, Nike, and Siemens will be participating in Employability Week at Newcastle University Business School between Monday 29 October - Friday 2 November.
They will talk to students about future and global trends in fields such as business management, accounting, marketing and operations.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn about rethinking leadership in the digital age and a team challenge event led by the CBI will introduce them to the key concepts of cross cultural leadership. There will also be recruitment sessions for students covering topics such as how your digital footprint can help or hinder employment prospects, building business confidence and how to succeed in online or video interviews.
Employability Week will culminate in the Future of Work challenge, when students will build on what they’ve learned during the week and work in groups to find solutions to some of the real challenges facing businesses.
Professor Sharon Mavin, (pictured) Director, Newcastle University Business School, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with so many top companies to inspire our students and give them a valuable insight into the skills and attributes they need to become the business leaders of tomorrow.
“Successful businesses are shaped by thinking differently, something that is at the heart of our teaching and research, meaning that our graduates are highly sought after and this event will ensure they get their careers off to a flying start.”
