European MBA scholarship

Scholarship boost for European business leaders of the future

Published on: 29 April 2019

Newcastle University Business School is offering an exceptional candidate from Europe a full fee MBA scholarship opportunity for study from September 2019.

Shaping the future of business

The European Excellence Scholarship is a full fee award of £22,800 towards the cost of tuition fees. It is aimed at European MBA candidates who can demonstrate an excellent understanding of the challenges and opportunities of working and leading in a multicultural environment.

In addition to learning from, and working alongside, world-leading researchers and practitioners, MBA students at the Business School receive extended careers support throughout the programme and beyond graduation.

Professor Sharon Mavin, Director, Newcastle University Business School, said: “For those who already have managerial experience and who are looking to take their career to the next level, our MBA programme is designed to educate and inspire tomorrow’s business leaders to shape the future of organisations. This scholarship will enable one exceptional candidate from a European country to develop the leadership and managerial skills required in an uncertain world.”

MBA graduate, Silvia Schmid, from Germany, has used the better understanding of economic and business relations she gained from the MBA to move into a new role with her employer, the German Federal Police.

Silvia said: “Having completed the MBA at Newcastle, I am more confident about roles I would not have previously considered myself suitable for. My mindset has changed towards a ‘can-do’ attitude when it comes to new challenges.

“The teaching experience of the academic staff at the Business School and the close connections to local businesses were fantastic.  And the opportunities to learn from other students on the course were as important as the subject content. My peers came from a variety of professions, sectors and countries, and offered a wealth of real-life experiences and perspectives. This insight was invaluable and has changed the way I think about and approach business problems.”

The Business School has a strong track record in working with organisations on a regional, national and global scale and is one of an elite group of Business Schools worldwide that hold triple accreditation from the three internationally recognised accreditation bodies: AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS.

Applications for the European Excellence MBA scholarship close on 10 May for study starting in September 2019.
