Following the debate at Student Council about the principles and ethics of the University’s relationship with the company Leonardo and subsequent Executive Board discussion, we confirm that the University has not invested in Leonardo as we do not invest in companies making armaments. Leonardo rents space on the Helix site but not within University owned buildings and we have no current research with the company. 

Executive Board considered future research collaborations when it met on 20 February 2024. It was noted that any proposals for future collaborations would be reviewed on a case by case basis. This would be the same for any project where there may be ethical considerations.   

Executive Board comprises the senior management team of the University and has central oversight of the day-to-day business of the University.
