Psychological Therapies Training and Research Unit

The Psychological Therapies Training and Research Unit (PTTRU) is based within the School of Psychology.

Our aims

We aim to support and enhance psychological health and wellbeing. We do this through:

• our outstanding training programmes
• continuing professional development opportunities
• research that impacts on clinical applications

It brings staff together across the NHS commissioned psychological professions training programmes and the Psychological Therapies Clinic. This offers our students the opportunity to receive an evidence-based course of cognitive behaviour therapy treatment. It also provides a convenient and timely alternative to NHS provision. We provide opportunities for NHS staff training. We also provide initiatives to promote and train staff wellbeing in wider settings.
