Background
I am a clinical psychologist and CBT practitioner with more than 25 years' experience of working in mental health services, across primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. I joined the School of Psychology in 2008 as a tutor for the doctorate in clinical psychology and to help develop the low intensity talking therapies PG certificate programme. In my current role, as course tutor on the dclinpsy programme, I am the lead for the CBT, EDI and older adult teaching streams, as well as disability lead for the programme, overseeing the support we offer for trainees with long term health conditions and disabilities.
My main interests are around CBT for depression and anxiety. I have helped to supervise a number of large scales research projects in these areas.
I am also interested in looking at the impact of disability on trainees and clinicians, and the obstacles this presents in getting fair access to training and employment.
My main areas of interest are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for GAD, panic disorder and depression.
