Research Funding Development Team, Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE)


Our team help to maximise our academics' chances of winning external funding.  I focus on the School of Engineering and the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences and in particular I can provide:

  • advice on funder strategy;
  • information on funders' forthcoming plans and opportunities;
  • support for large and complex funding applications;
  • visits and information sessions from funders;
  • 'in house' funding information sessions (for the University, Schools and Groups);
  • advice on finding funding;
  • advice on preparing funding applications;
  • lay review of funding applications.

Background and Qualifications

Before joining the SAgE Faculty, I supported academics at Newcastle University to win international research funding. Prior to that I worked to develop strategic international partnerships at Durham University.  This included facilitating research and education activities within those partnerships and international networks.  Outside of the Education sector, I have developed and delivered cross-sector projects relating to fuel poverty and worked in policy positions in a housing association and the North East Assembly.
