Background
Benjamin D. Golant completed his doctorate at Royal Holloway, University. As a fundraising executive, in the fields of education and humanitarian crisis, he saw at first hand the significance of philanthropy for the development of new social initiatives. Subsequently, in doctoral and post-doctoral research, he studied social entrepreneurship in the health and heritage fields. He is presently extending this work through research into the relationship dynamics between social activists and the philanthropists on whose support they depend. He has published in leading international journals such as Organization Studies, Human Relations, and Organization.
