Philanthropy Professionals and Professionalization
This project explores how senior salaried members of staff (CEOs and Heads of Strategy, Policy and Fundraising) within large charities and foundations conceive their roles, expertise and professional identity. The focus is on prospects for the strengthening of professional identities and the ways in which change might be facilitated through networks, leadership, learning and the formation of communities of practice. The project also looks at how the professionalization of philanthropy may affect its logics and practices.
