The best things about music at Newcastle University: “Newcastle University was the perfect setting for the Folk and Traditional Music degree. The Armstrong Building with the King’s Hall was a spectacular setting for lectures and the weekly lunchtime and student concerts. The music studios offered great rehearsal space, and the course was run and organised by a top team. One memory in particular is my final recital in Hall 2 of Sage Gateshead. The most important thing for me was growth in my general knowledge and understanding of music, not just traditional. This specialist knowledge is often required for my role as researcher for the various music television shows I work on, as I am responsible for bringing great musical content to the screen.”
