"I really enjoyed taking part in so many performances, including being part of the University Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Orchestra.

"The contacts I made here have proved invaluable for my career in music education. I was given the opportunity to study abroad in my third year, spending a year at the Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama.

"Individual tuition in composition and the chance to observe Gustavo Dudamel rehearsing the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra were hugely valuable experiences.

"The highlight of my time at Newcastle University was having my piece performed by Royal Northern Sinfonia at Sage Gateshead, an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
