Judith King
Judith King is Senior Research Associate on the AHRC funded research project Mapping Contemporary Art In the Heritage Experience led by Professor Andrew Burton, resulting in 5 contemporary commissions at 4 heritage sites in 2018, a major online resource, exhibition and conference in 2019.
Judith is Creative Director of Arts&Heritage, an agency working nationally to promote, advise and support contemporary art practice within an historic context. Arts&Heritage has worked with many national heritage partners such as the National Trust, English Heritage, Churches Conservation Trust, Compton Verney and others as well as museums and independent trusts and with internationally known artists, designers, performers and architects. Their recent work (2015-18) with museums called Meeting Point has resulted in 19 contemporary artists responding to museum collections and historical narratives. Meeting Point is now an integral part of Arts&Heritage's National Portfolio Organisation delivery programme, funded by the Arts Council England. Arts&Heritage is a partner in Mapping Contemporary Art in the Heritage Experience alongside the National Trust, Churches Conservation Trust, Contemporary Visual Arts Network and Arts Council England.

Judith King is also an independent curator of contemporary art projects and was, for 16 years the curator of the English Heritage contemporary programme at Belsay Hall Castle and Gardens, working with artists, designers, architects and fashion designers to animate the empty and austere Belsay Hall resulting in projects Fashion At Belsay, The Sitooteries, Picture House and ExtraOrdinary Measures.
