Background
Laurel is a p/t Lecturer in Public Relations and a freelance trainer and lecturer. She develops and runs training courses on all aspects of PR for the CIPR (of which she is a Fellow and one of the 70 @70), and a wide range of both commercial and non commercial organisations including consultancies and their clients. Laurel is also a Fellow of the CAM Foundation, the marketing communications specialism of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is an examiner for Customer Communication. She is also course leader for CIPR qualifications delivered in the North East by nesma from Foundation to Professional Diploma. Laurel also sits on the CIPR north east committee, and is a judge for the annual PRide awards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Laurel teaches on the MA programmes MCH8065 Theoretical Approaches to PR and MCH8060 Strategies and Management in PR; and undergraduate MCH 1028 Introduction to Professional Communication where she is Module Leader and MCH 2034 Introduction to PR. She also supervises BA and MA dissertations and PhD candidates.
