Dr Daniel Koczy
Lecturer in Philosophy
Background
I am a lecturer in Philosophy at Newcastle, where I have been teaching since 2017. Prior to joining Newcastle, I taught Performance Theory and Theatre Studies at a number of UK universities.
I am the Degree Programme Director in Philosophy.
Research
My research has been situated in the emerging field of Performance Philosophy, with particular focus on the theatre of Samuel Beckett and the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze.
I am interested in cross- and inter-disciplinary research methods, aesthetics and in refiguring the relationship between philosophy and other practices.
Teaching
I have taught on a number of modules in Philosophy at Newcastle. I am currently teaching in Critical Reasoning, Existentialism and as part of the MLitt programme.
