I am a PG student, I will be graduating this year, can apply for this position?

Yes, provided you graduated from a Newcastle University undergraduate degree in 2024.

Do I need a driving licence for the role?

Yes, you must hold a valid UK driving licence to undertake the role. This will be checked at interview.

There are also Health & Safety requirements for some of our events, which require staff who can drive.

What kind of travel does the role involve and where to?

Outreach Ambassador Team covers outreach delivery across the UK. As such, in the role you may travel across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man.

A high proportion of our Outreach is local to the North East of England.

Travel plans vary according to the most appropriate logistics for each individual trip. Trips often include a mix of hire cars, rail, buses, local underground/Metro and taxis.

When will applicants find out whether they are successful?

If you are invited to interview, you will find out on Wednesday 19 March 2025.

Interview outcomes will be distributed during week commencing 7 April 2025.

Can I become an Outreach Ambassador in my own field?

We will aim to align staff roles and responsibilities with their degree programmes.

However, this will not always be possible, as it depends upon the nature of the applications received and roles & responsibilities available.

Regardless of your roles and responsibilities, you will have subject-specialists and experienced staff to support you in carrying out your role.
