Resources and CPD for Teachers

Support for you and your students as they progress to Newcastle University.

Newcastle University Library Education Outreach

We have a dedicated Library Education Outreach team, who provide a range of support and workshops through their Sixth Form Study Skills and Archives Alive offers.

Sixth Form Study Skills

Our free online study skills resources for A-Level students provide everything they need to strengthen their study skills. As well as our website, we deliver in-person and online study skills workshops for A-Level students.

Archives Alive

We bring archives alive for Key Stages 3-5 with online resources, project-based learning and interactive workshops. Our primary source-based learning activities and workshops cover topics ranging from the British Civil Wars and GCSE Health and the People, to Civil Rights in the USA and Debating for A-Level students.

CPD and Events

We offer CPD workshops for school and college staff linked to Sixth Form Study Skills and Archives Alive, as well as one-off events and bespoke support.

PARTNERS Programme

We lead the coordination of PARTNERS, our flagship supported entry route. Over 1,000 students complete this programme each year.

Participants benefit from a lower offer of entry and a free residential summer school.

Contextual offers

We ensure that students from underrepresented groups receive a contextual offer of entry, where relevant.

A contextual offer may include a lower offer of entry and specific activities relevant to each group of students.

Application and study support for your students

There is a range of support available for prospective students from diverse backgrounds:

Language Resources Centre

Our dedicated Language Resources Centre are able to offer outreach events and activities for your students. This includes taster sessions and our Linguacast on campus event.

Science kit loans

We have sets of equipment to support secondary schools in the delivery of specific chemistry required practicals at Post 16 level. North East schools can borrow the kits free of charge for up to two weeks. Schools can initially borrow each type of kit once a year.

Support for science practicals

We understand that schools don't always have the specialist equipment or resources required to run science practicals. We can host classes in some local schools to carry out A-level chemistry and physics required practicals. We may also be able to host your BTEC Applied Science group.
