I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

In 2014 I won the Newcastle University Teaching Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution to Feedback. I was nominated for the Teaching Excellence Awards (now Education Awards) in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 (Innovative Teaching, Pastoral Care, Feedback).
