“THE IMPACT OF ANXIETY ON STUDENT INTERPRETERS’ SELF-REPAIRS IN ENGLISH TO CHINESE SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING”
Before enrolled by Newcastle University, I did my MA degree at Durham University. My postgraduate dissertation focuses on the impact of the source texts’ complexity on self-repair in English to Chinese simultaneous interpreting. By doing the empirical study in my postgraduate year, and with some research outcomes, I decided to explore in-depth the issue of self-repair in English to Chinese simultaneous interpreting. Thus, my PhD project is going to investigate the relationship between self-repair and anxiety on student interpreters and wish to unveil the impact of anxiety on making self-repairs.
