Chinese New Year Paper Cutting Workshop in Battle Hill Library

On January 25th, the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University collaborated with Battle Hill Library to organize an engaging Chinese New Year paper cutting workshop.

Led by volunteer teacher Wei Yingying from the Confucius Institute, the workshop aimed to introduce traditional Chinese culture to the community. Participants experienced the art of paper cutting, learning about its significance in Chinese New Year decorations.

The workshop included demonstrations of intricate paper-cut designs and hands-on activities, where participants created three-dimensional "spring" characters and intricate "spring character love window flowers."
