CI conducts Promotional Event on HSK Exam
On May 27, local time, the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University was invited to organize a promotional event for the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi,Chinese proficiency test) exam at Newcastle Mandarin Chinese School,attracting numerous students and parents. The event was hosted by CI Chinese language teacher, Ms. Xiaolu Tan, in the presence of the CI's director, Ruojuan Zheng,and all the CI teachers.
During the event, Ms. Tan Xiaolu provided a detailed introduction to the HSK examination, covering the exam content, proficiency levels, and the entire process of registration. She emphasized the services offered by the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University, the only HSK test center in the northeast region of England. Additionally, she highlighted the opportunities available through achieving different levels in the HSK exam, such as applying for scholarships and participating in study tour camps. Students and parents showed great interest in the topic and actively asked questions during the Q&A session. The atmosphere was lively, and the event extended for nearly an hour beyond the original plan.
After the event, Principal Liu from Newcastle Mandarin Chinese School expressed that the presentation not only provided students and parents with comprehensive knowledge about the HSK exam but also further ignited students' motivation and confidence in learning Chinese. Principal Liu stated that they would organize students to take the HSK exam in the second half of the year, which would not only evaluate students' Chinese proficiency but also provide them with opportunities to participate in more activities. She looks forward to further collaboration with the Confucius Institute in creating more opportunities for students to explore Chinese culture and improve their Chinese proficiency.
