Come and join one of the many events during your first few weeks. They will help you get familiar with the university and enable you to meet new people.
International Welcome Sessions
Our events will take place:
- on 10, 11 and 12 September 2025
- in the Frederick Douglass Centre near the Newcastle University Business School (see campus map)

Welcome and information sessions
All sessions will be in the Frederick Douglass Centre - the full schedule will be available in August 2025.
International Welcome Information Fair
The information fair will be:
- in the Frederick Douglass Centre (see campus map)
- on 10, 11 and 12 September 2025 between 10:00 and 15:00

Refreshments will be provided. You'll be able to chat with other new students over a tea or coffee.

Campus and City Tours
Our Students' Union will be offering several FREE tours of the city and campus. These will run throughout International Welcome and the first week of term. Why not join one and explore what the university and city have to offer?

The Give it a Go programme at the Students' Union is a great way to join activities and meet other students. From lunctime crafting sessions to day trips outside of Newcastle, there are many activities to choose from!
