There might be times when you need additional support. If you have a question or problem, please ask for help as soon as you need it.

Information and help

Our Student Engagement Team can help with any non-academic questions you have. You can contact them by:

Academic support

The University offers a range of academic support services.

Undergraduate and postgraduate taught programme students are assigned a personal tutor. You should contact your personal tutor if you have personal difficulties that may affect your ability to:

  • attend University
  • complete your academic work

Postgraduate research students should contact their supervisor/s. They can also access support from the Doctoral College.

Wellbeing support

You'll find our student wellbeing advisers in your academic school. They provide a listening and support service to help you gain the most from your university experience.

Student wellbeing advisers can signpost you to other support services. These include our central Student Health and Wellbeing services.

Newcastle University Students’ Union (NUSU)

When you become a student at Newcastle University, you also become a member of the Students’ Union (NUSU). NUSU is an independent organisation run by students for students.

Students' Union membership gives you access to:

  • events
  • opportunities
  • clubs
  • societies

NUSU also campaigns to improve your study experience.
