The National Patient Recruitment Centre (PRC) programme is purpose-designed to increase the UK's capacity to deliver late-phase commercial clinical research. NIHR PRC Newcastle supports SMEs, the Life Sciences and MedTech Industries in delivering late phase clinical trials. This would usually be at stage T2 of the translational research pathway.

The FMS Project Management Team are a highly skilled team who provide a comprehensive specialist professional support service to a portfolio of translational medical research projects, many of which are multi-site and cross-disciplinary. The majority of the projects supported by the FMS Project Management Team fall within stages D3-T2.

The NIHR Newcastle Clinical Research Facility (NCRF) is well-established and successful. It delivers a range of experimental medicine studies led by Principal Investigators from across the Newcastle University and the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It plays a strategic role in realising the ambition to be a leader in translational research bringing benefits to patients and society.
