  • High-quality diagnostic and research services – including digital pathology, AI-based approaches, immunohistochemistry, Tissue Micro Array (TMA creation) and nucleic acid extraction, within ISO accredited laboratories
  • Governance support and training – Expertise in human tissue regulations, including the Human Tissue Act (2004) and Codes of Practice, GCP, research ethics and Data Protection (DPA, 2018, GDPR).

Stage

Researchers may contact Newcastle Biobank at any stage of the process. We would recommend contacting us as early as possible to ensure capacity and time to address any regulatory requirements.

Human tissue samples, and associated derivatives (cell lines, DNA etc) provide a valuable resource to underpin basic discovery research (D1) through to development of intervention (D3) and pilot Clinical Evaluation and Experimental Medicine (T1).
