Research Software Engineering
Research Software Engineering (RSE) develop high-quality software in collaboration with scientists, engineers and scholars from all research domains. The team's mission is to support the transformation of research at Newcastle through the application of software engineering best practices. Supporting researchers throughout all stages D!-T3 of the translational research pathway.
About Research Software Engineering
Research Software Engineering (RSE) develop high-quality software in collaboration with scientists, engineers and scholars from all research domains. The team's mission is to support the transformation of research at Newcastle through the application of software engineering best practices.
We can support fractional FTE splits and varying time contributions over the course of your research project. When you work with an RSE they are in constant communication with the rest of the team, this way your project has access to the combined knowledge of the entire team. Staffing fractional posts and recruiting for the specific software engineering skills you require can be hard, using the RSE team solves this problem.
Stage
We work with researchers pre- and post-award. We can meet with researchers to discuss their ideas, provide costings, and contribute technical details to grant applications. The team also supports researchers who have already secured funding and have had difficulty recruiting for the skillset they need or their requirements have changed.
We can support researchers at any point throughout the translational research pathway from D1 to T3.
