Urgent help
1. Contact the emergency services by dialling 999 or go to Accident and Emergency at the nearest hospital. Give them as much detail as you can, such as the person's location if they aren't with you. Follow all guidance from the emergency services.

2. Next, contact our security team on 0191 208 6817 to let them know what is happening. This is especially important if the emergency services need access to campus.
3. Next, we recommend contacting Student Health and Wellbeing Services (SHWS) on 0191 208 3333 if this happens in business hours. The team will support you and help mitigate the risk of future harm to you or your fellow student. SHWS are open Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. We are closed on UK public and bank holidays.
If the incident occurs out of hours, the university security team will alert Student Health and Wellbeing Services. They'll give you the support you need.
Non-urgent support
Your Doctor (GP) is often the first point of contact for non-emergency health and wellbeing concerns. They will likely be open during working hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00-18:00.
You can also telephone the NHS on 111 if you need priority medical help or advice. The NHS will support you if it's not a life-threatening situation, or is outside of your Doctor's (GP's) working hours. The NHS have an online symptoms checker, if you're not sure which NHS service you need.

Please provide as much detail as you can. We'll then take appropriate action. This might include contacting the student (if it's not yourself), referring and signposting you or the student to the right support services . Where appropriate, we may also involve a trusted contact.
