Student life

Newcastle is friendly, multicultural and safe. The city centre is just a few minutes' walk from the campus, and we're also close to the beach and countryside.

At Newcastle, you will build relationships with fellow students from around the world. Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) has over 200 societies and sports clubs you can join.

The International Society brings together students of different nationalities. This can help you settle in to the local environment and promotes cultural diversity on our campus.

The Islamic Society maintains the prayer room on campus, and arranges regular lectures, study circles and social events.

Newcastle University Pakistan Society is open to students of all cultures and nationalities who want a greater understanding of the nation and its culture.

Find out more about societies on the NUSU website.

I really enjoy my supervisor's guidelines and encouragement. I am learning a lot from her not just academically, but also in developing my personal ethics.
