ResLife ReHome

ResLife ReHome is Newcastle University’s student-to-student donation initiative that helps reduce waste, support sustainability, and ease the cost of living for new students moving into accommodation.

ResLife ReHome is a sustainability-driven initiative by Newcastle University that encourages students to donate unwanted, good-quality items at the end of the academic year. These items are sorted, cleaned, and re-distributed to new students during move-in to help reduce waste, ease the cost of settling in, and build a culture of sharing and community.

Whether you're moving out or just arriving, ResLife ReHome gives every student the chance to support each other while making a positive environmental impact.

For Incoming Students: Don't Worry, We've Got You Covered

During International Arrival Week and Intake Weekend (8–14 September 2025), you’ll find donation stations across ResLife social spaces filled with useful, free items passed on by last year’s students.

Need plates? Stationery? Some extra hangers or a warm coat? We’ve got you covered—free of charge.

It’s a small way we welcome you to the university community, help you settle in, and reduce the financial pressure of moving in.
