Location

Park View is an 14-minute walk from the Students' Union and is close to the University Sports Centre and Medical School. It's also a 15-minute walk away from Newcastle city centre, making shops, cafes, bars and restaurants easy to reach.

Reception opening times: 

Reception doors are open Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45. The Reception Team can also be contacted by telephone and email from 08.00 – 18.00. 

Rooms and prices

Park View offers en-suite rooms as well as self-contained studio rooms, and accessible en suite rooms and studios.  

Facilities include bike storage, CCTV/entry phone, common room with gaming area, onsite laundrette and study spaces. All utility bills are included; WiFi is free, and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance via Cover 4 Insurance.

En suite

En suite rooms are available in flats of four to eight rooms where students share lounge and kitchen facilities. There is also a TV shared per flat with a TV licence included, however if you use your own electronic device to watch TV you'll need to purchase your own licence. Each bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a four-foot bed (small double size), desk storage, shelving, wardrobe space, and under-bed storage. For September 2024-25 applicants, there will be 1,254 rooms of this type available.  

Weekly Rent: £178.50 

Annual Rent: £7,140.00 

Contract Length: The contract is a fixed term period of 40 weeks and covers the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per night. If your contract differs to the fixed term period (ie earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges. Find out how to pay your rent here.

Studio

Studios have access to your own self-contained en suite and kitchen. Each studio combines a sleep/study/kitchen/dining space, including four-foot bed (small double size), desk, small desk drawer unit, desk chair, wardrobe, and shelving. For September 2024-25 applicants, there will be 16 rooms of this type available.  

All undergraduate applicants are welcome to choose studio rooms, however, priority is given to students with health needs that require this type of accommodation. If we have any remaining studios after processing these requests, we'll make them available to all students. We encourage you to consider alternative options if you do not have a need for this type of accommodation.

Accessible en suite

Accessible en suite rooms are available in flats of seven rooms where students share a lounge and kitchen which features low-level kitchen work surfaces. There is also a TV shared per flat with a TV licence included, however if you use your own electronic device to watch TV you'll need to purchase your own licence. Each wheelchair accessible bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a four-foot bed (small double size), desk, accessible storage and wardrobe, as well as a wet room equipped with shower chairs, handrails and emergency pull cords. For September 2024-25 applicants, there will be 8 rooms of this type available.

Each wheelchair accessible studio combines a sleep/study/kitchen/dining space, including a four-foot bed (small double size), desk, accessible storage and wardrobe, as well as a wet room equipped with shower chairs, handrails and emergency pull cords, and low-level kitchen worktops. For September 2024-25 applicants, there will be 4 rooms of this type available.
