To help you transition smoothly into university life, we've designed this bespoke schedule for your course. It contains a mix of informative sessions, networking opportunities and fun activities.
Some activities are specific to your course, while others will introduce you to opportunities and events across the wider university.

- some activities may require sign-up in order to attend. If applicable, sign-up links will be provided in the activity description.
- most sessions are compulsory, but some are optional – this will be specified in the activity description.
- you are required to complete the Belbin questionnaire ahead of induction week.
13:30 - Introduction to University Systems and Student Wellbeing - NUBS 5.12
Time: 13:30 to 15:00
Venue: Newcastle University Business School (NUBS) MBA room, 5.12

Sign-up required: No
Meet the education administrator for the MBA programme, Keira Iveson, and get some useful tips on how to navigate university systems. This session also includes an introduction from the School student wellbeing adviser, Chris Petherbridge.
9:30 - Day at the Beach - Tynemouth
Time: 9:30 to 16:30
Venue: Meet at the Grand Hotel, Tynemouth. You will receive detailed information via email.
Attendance: Compulsory
Sign-up required: No
Spend a day at the beach with your fellow students and the MBA team. The day will include team building activities and a yoga session on the beach. Food and drink provided.
15:00 - International Trip Introduction - Philip Robinson Library
Time: 15:00 to 16:00
Venue: Hope Cluster, Room 161, 1st Floor at the Philip Robinson Library

Join this session to learn more about the MBA International Trip in 2025 and receive important information on the visa process.
Tuesday 17 September to Wednesday 18 September - Students’ Union Clubs and Societies Fair
Time: 10:00 to 16:00 (10:00 to 11:00 Quiet Hour)
Venue: University Sports Centre
Attendance: Optional

At the Clubs and Societies Fair, you will find members from the majority of the 65 clubs and 200 societies, ready and willing to answer any question you may have about joining, cost, socials, training and more! It’s the perfect opportunity to see what we have on offer and mingle with those already involved. You may even see some demonstrations. From Archery to Zumba there really is something for everyone with our fantastic student led clubs and societies.
Please note: 10:00 to 11:00 is Quiet Hour whereby we will be making adjustments to the environment to make it less sensory stimulating for those that may have a hidden disability.
