Staff Profile

Dr Jenny Davidson is a mentor, leader and educator and has over 25 years of experience, quietly leading and driving change in leadership and education for sustainability. 

Jenny is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School,  Co Chairs the University’s Sustainable Development Goals Committee and is a Climate Change Fellow in the University’s Interdisciplinary School X. Previously she was the Director of the Exec MBA and led the Newcastle Hub for Women in Sustainability. Jenny’s core teaching and areas of scholarly practice and engagement centre around people (specifically leadership ) and sustainability. Jenny regularly advises organisations on the development of their sustainability strategy and is a mentor to several senior women leaders working in sustainability. In partnership with Women in Sustainability she has explored how to support inclusive conversations on sustainability issues and ensure that a diverse range of voices are heard and listened to. Jenny Co Hosts the Sustainability Sprints podcast. conversations direct from the classroom, designed to support individuals and organisations to navigate their own sustainability journey.

Since moving to Higher Education ten years ago Jenny has worked primarily in Corporate and Executive Education and has held roles including Director of Learning and Teaching and MBA Director. Prior to moving to work full time in academia, Jenny held a series of senior leadership roles in Sustainability in both the public and private sectors at BAA Heathrow and Oxford City Council.
