Project overview
The escalating use of electric vehicles (EVs) has led to a burgeoning challenge in managing retired batteries. Addressing this issue, this research stems from the growing importance of sustainable and circular economy practices in the field of reverse supply chain management.
This research proposes a reverse supply chain model considering the repurpose of retired Electric vehicle batteries (EVBs). This model will integrate the key criteria, the open-loop, and the actors of this process.
The primary objective is to improve the sustainability and circularity. Notably, this model emphasizes the gap which needs more research on the open loops of retired EVBs. Comparative analysis with established closed-loop models facilitates the identification of the most cost-effective and environmentally sustainable reverse flow for REVBs. The ultimate goal is to enhance the effective utilization of retired batteries and harvest the value of REVB.
