Project description

This research project aims to explore employee-centred HRM practices' effects on employees' well-being and outcomes. In a competitive business environment, organisations seek to enhance their management practices to maintain their competitiveness by improving the well-being of their employees. Most of the common HRM practices bundles, such as high-performance working systems and high-involvement HR practices, are purposefully designed to improve productivity rather than employee well-being. As part of this endeavour, researchers and HR professionals show tremendous enthusiasm for adopting employee-centred HRM practices since these practices prioritise employee interests. It is assumed that happy employees would undoubtedly produce higher productivity. Hence, this project will contribute to this area by investigating employee-centred HRM practices' effects on workplace well-being and employee outcomes. In particular, this study will investigate whether these practices facilitate employee well-being and whether they motivate employees to be more productive and adopt more positive working behaviours such as organisational citizenship, creativity, and effective teamwork.
