Flying Start Programme
Our Flying Start Business Accounting and Finance with work placements degree provides an innovative route into chartered accountancy, with integrated paid work placements at PwC.
The Flying Start degree is a collaboration between Newcastle University, PwC and ICAEW.
Our partnership with PwC allows you to get the most out of your time with us. Dedicated staff from both Newcastle University Business School and PwC will support you throughout your studies.
You will develop business skills, gain real experience through paid work placements and progress towards a professional accreditation as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
As pioneers of this first-of-its-kind degree, we’re proud of how the course has grown since its launch over 20 years ago.
Key facts
- Four-year honours degree in Business Accounting and Finance
- Small class sizes with a family feel and a real sense of community
- Three integrated placements in PwC's Audit business during years two to four
- Students take 12 of 15 ICAEW ACA exams as part of the degree
- Around half the technical work experience is completed that's required to qualify as a Chartered Accountant
- Graduates may receive a full-time job offer to join PwC as a Senior Associate
My favourite thing about the course has to be the people! Spending four years in the PwC room with 55 people makes you very close and it is truly a community of friends and family.
