The global reputation of our scholars recognised
Professor Neelam Srivastava will join students and staff in the Department of Foreign Languages at Peking University, China as a visiting scholar in September. She is travelling under the auspices of the “Peking University Scheme for International Scholars”, a competitive scheme to bring distinguished foreign scholars to Peking for an academic visit. She is hosted by Professor Yan Jia, Assistant Professor of Indian Languages and Literatures, and she will lecture on the India-China Connection in Aravind Adiga’s novel The White Tiger, on the influence of Antonio Gramsci in Indian thought and questions of caste in Indian literature from Raja Rao’s Kanthapura to Contemporary Dalit Life-Writing. We are delighted to have this link with Peking University and this wonderful further recognition of Professor Srivastava’s global reputation as a scholar of Indian and postcolonial writing.
