Prose
Our research cluster produces award-winning writing across multiple forms, including novel, short story, memoir and creative non-fiction.
Our work is interested in formal experimentation within these genres. We also work at the intersection of prose and the history of ideas, from Enlightenment through to twentieth-century philosophy and contemporary human rights.
We host a regular series of events through the Newcastle Centre for Literary Arts that brings leading contemporary prose writers to Newcastle. Past speakers have included Moshin Hamid, Kazuo Ishiguro, Maaza Mengiste, and Ali Smith.
