Open Days and Events
Taking the opportunity to visit us is a great way to find out just what the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics has to offer.
University Open Days
We hold undergraduate and postgraduate visit days where you can meet us and find out all about studying at Newcastle University. Sign up to our mailing list to find out about any future events.
At these events you'll have the opportunity to talk with current academic staff and students, many of which are also available to message on Unibuddy. You can also find lots of information about student life at Newcastle on our website.
Our next Undergraduate Open Days for applications for the 2025/26 academic year will take place on:
- 28th of September 2024
- 16th of November 2024.
Please visit us in the Percy Building to hear our talks and get subject information.
Undergraduate Offer Holder Experience Days
If your application was successful and you are given an offer to study with us, you can attend one of our Offer Holder Experience Days. This will give you the opportunity to find out more about the degree programme and university life in general.
In the morning session, you will attend sessions run by Student Services and explore our beautiful campus on guided tours. You can read more here.
In the afternoon session run by the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics, you will meet current students and hear about their experience in our student panel session, chat to our lecturers and Admissions team, and enjoy university style taster activities for your subject.
Our Offer Holder Experience Days will take place on:
- Saturday 15th March
- Saturday 10th May
Offer Holders will be sent information about these events via email - if you have any questions please get in touch.
Unable to Attend?
If you are unable to attend one of our scheduled visit days, but would still like to arrange a tour of the School, then please do email elll@ncl.ac.uk with details of times and dates suitable for you. We will do our best to accommodate a visit and arrange an opportunity for you to speak with a lecturer on the programme you're interested in studying.
During your visit to the school, you may also be able to book a guided tour of the campus. If tours are unavailable, you could check out this 30 minute self-guided tour.
You can also check out Newcastle University's blog, which contains advice about applying to university.
