We have English language courses and support if English is not your first language.
Pre-sessional English courses can help you meet the English language requirements of your offer to study with us.
There is also In-sessional English language support throughout your time studying with us.
Pre-sessional English
Pre-sessional English Language Support courses are designed to help improve your English before you start your degree.
You can study either the 6-week course or the 10-week course, depending on your IELTS scores.
Your offer letter tells you which English Language Band you need to meet. This will be one of 10 English Language Bands which are listed below:
Band 1 Band 1
Direct Entry : IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills)
6 week Pre-sessional entry : IELTS 6.0 overall (with 1 sub-skill at 5.0 and 3 sub-skills at 5.5)
10 week Pre-sessional entry : IELTS 5.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.0 in all sub-skills)

In-sessional English
Our free In-sessional English language lessons and support are designed to help you throughout your time studying with us.
If you haven't studied with INTO Newcastle, you will take a short English Language test when you arrive. This is to identify if you need any extra study support.
We have free English lessons throughout the year, including classes in:
academic writing
listening and speaking
presentation skills
pronunciation and grammar
Our Language Resource Centre is open to anyone who wants to learn or improve a language. It has:
newspapers, books and other resources in over 50 languages
24 satellite channels in 17 languages
over 800 foreign language films
