Copyright is an intellectual property right which gives the person who created a work control over how it can be used by others.
Copyright applies to many of the outputs researchers create, such as journal articles and a thesis as well as reports, data, software, photographs, audio and video recordings. It is important to consider how copyright will be managed when publishing these works and to consider copyright when seeking to reuse works created by others.
