Anatomy: Past and Present
This workshop allows students to learn about the teaching of anatomy from the Renaissance period to the present day.
About the workshop
This workshop is delivered jointly by Newcastle University Library and the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the University Library where they will engage with rare books about anatomy including Andreas Vesalius’ Fabric of the Human Body. They will also visit Newcastle University’s medical school where they will take part in a variety of activities including observational drawing, examining old surgical equipment and having a go at laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
