EBSCOhost update – take action now to maintain your personal folders

7 January 2025

The EBSCO platform which hosts many key Library databases, such as Business Source Ultimate, SPORTDiscus, CINAHL, CAB Abstracts, MLA International Bibliography and ERIC, as well as many of our e-books, is moving to a new user interface week beginning 20 January. You should not see any difference with how you access the databases or full text, but the new interface will offer you a range of enhanced search functionality.

One of the areas being upgraded is the personalisation features, including how you create folders, save searches and items. If you have created an individual profile on the EBSCOHost platform, added items to custom folders, saved your search strings or created automated alerts, you will need to take action before 20 January to ensure you do not lose access following the migration.

EBSCO have put together two help videos to show you how to move your saved searches and items to a secure folder which will be fully migrated during the new user interface  roll out.

We would encourage anyone who uses these EBSCO databases to double check their personal accounts.
