If you’re thinking about being a Peer Mentor, do it! It is great to support upcoming students transitioning from school to university life. You also get such a fresh perspective on your experience as a student. Plus it looks great on your CV!

Being a Peer Mentor

I decide to become a Peer Mentor because I found my Peer Mentor to be incredibly useful in the first few weeks of my university journey and I wanted to pass on some of the knowledge and tips I had learned over the last few years to new students.

As a Peer Mentor, I provided weekly support during the first semester to a small group of students in one of their Stage 1 modules. I also offered support and feedback on assignments for the module, sharing tips on how to improve their work. Finally, I peer assessed their presentations, giving informal feedback.

From a Peer Mentor, a mentee can expect a friendly face who will tell you like it is! Mentees can expect a supportive, caring student who wants you to do well. We also offer some great restaurant/food places as we’ve been here for 3-4 years!
