Aims
The aim of this module is to provide students with the opportunity to work as a team on a consultancy project in order to apply their domain knowledge and skills with regard to the management of projects in different settings, including strategic management, team management, stakeholder management and governance arrangements, and with the consideration of economic, cultural and ethical specification in successfully managing a project.

Strategic thinking in project management - objectives and requirement, success and benefits, strategic implementation, decision gate
Establishing governance and oversight in managing projects: Assurance principles, investment decisions
Strategic sourcing for project management: contract management, procurement strategy
Project management negotiation skills
Project assurance, learning, maturity: decision gates, maturity of practice
Defining project management outputs: success and benefits, objectives and requirements
Project monitoring and reporting

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
Lecture sessions will equip students with fundamental insights into project consultancy, outlining the consultant's role in project management and problem-solving. Small group teaching sessions will then enable students to apply theoretical concepts from lectures and engage in case analysis through a consultant's lens.

Assessment Rationale And Relationship
Each group is expected to work on project report that covers the consultancy and project management aspect of the project. Depending on the project deliverables will be agreed with the students at the project initiation stage. All project teams will undertake a presentation to the project owners.
