Aims

The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of Sustainable Human Resource Management (HRM) principles and practices, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate sustainability into HRM strategies within organizations. By the end of this module, students should be able to critically analyse the role of HRM in fostering sustainability and contribute to sustainable HRM initiatives in various organizational contexts.

Teaching Rationale And Relationship

The module combines lectures with student-led workshops and drop-in surgeries. The lectures introduce students to key concepts, theoretical and policy frameworks, and debates. Student-led workshops are designed to provide students with structured tasks and readings which form the basis for extended debate and critique. This will also provide the opportunity for group discussion and activities. Drop-in surgeries provide opportunities for assessment guidance and feedback.

Case study2MFormative assessment will take place within the workshop sessions of the module, and will include how to answer essay style questions. A range of case studies related to the module materials will be discussed and debated, assisting with the final exam.
