Launch of The Families Project

Co-hosted with NU Parents

Date/Time: Friday, 25th January 2019, 10:30 0 12:00

Venue: David Shaw Lecture Theatre, Ground Floor, Medical School

We are working towards becoming a more family friendly university, with "best-in-class" practices and a supportive environment that enables our parents and carers to thrive.

The Parenting & Childcare Review, undertaken in 2017, put the spotlight on what the University offered to parents, and made recommendations on how support could be improved. In response to the findings of the review, the University Executive Board (UEB) committed to fund a three-year action plan, which is led and driven by the Parenting & Childcare Implementation Group.

The Parenting and Childcare Implementation Group have been working behind the scenes to deliver on these action plans and would like to invite you to find out more at our Project Launch on Friday, 25 January 2019 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at the David Shaw Lecture Theatre. You will be able to hear about our different work streams and what's in the pipeline for 2019 as well as give feedback or ask questions on how the University is delivering its ambition to create an enabling and inclusive environment for everyone. After the presentations and discussions, there will be refreshments and light bites outside the lecture theatre and a chance to meet the members of our Group.

This event is co-hosted by NU Parents and NU Women, but is open to anyone, especially NU parents, carers as well as line managers who wish to best support their staff as they balance caring responsibilities.
