I am an Associate Professor (Clinical) with Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia since 2014 to date.
Prior to this, I had served the Malaysian Civil Service as a Medical Officer for 18 years, of which I had 14 years experience in Primary Care in Johor Baharu. I held the rank UD54 for 5 years before optional retirement from Government Service.
I completed Master of Medical Education under Newcastle University in 2020 which provides me the required qualification to teach medical undergraduate and postgraduate students.
I am the overall Year 5 Lead and Year 5 GMP (Good Medical Practice) module lead for MBBS.
I am also on the Clinical Skills & Simulation group for teaching.
I am involved as staff and examiner for Postgraduate Medical Education with the MedEd team at Newcastle University, UK.
I mainly engage in teaching Stage 3 and Stage 5 for clinical encounters in addition to communication for all other stages.
My involvement in teaching initiatives are :
Teaching of FOCP and EJR on campus and in clinics and hospital, CIDR in hospital
Communication for Stage 1 & 2 on campus
Teaching of ESR in clinics for GP setting
MOSLERS and Professional assessment for ESR, FOCP & EJRAs
