Each year, we celebrate the academic success of our students by awarding a series of awards to well-performing students.
The Vice Chancellor's Merit Awards
Undergraduate students
Each year, progression awards are awarded to those of our students who have achieved academic distinction in their previous year of study. Each award is for one year and is equivalent in value to 10% of the annual fee.
Foundation students
Top students who excel in a Foundation programme will be considered for the Vice Chancellor’s Merit Awards. Each award is for one year and is equivalent in value to 10% of the annual fee.
TM Teoh Prize - Years 1 to 4
This is awarded to the top performing MBBS student in each year. The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners to the undergraduate who shall obtain the highest marks.
The award for this is RM 250 and is taken from a fund donated to Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia by TM Teoh.
TM Teoh Prize - Year 5
This is awarded to the top performing final year MBBS student. The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners to the undergraduate student who obtains the highest marks at Year 5 examination.
