7s Football

A great halfway house between 5s and 11s, giving you the spirit of a small team but with extra scope for tactics.

Weekly 7s league 

Where and when

The league runs on a Tuesday night from 19:00–22:00. Teams can register either for the 19:05-19:50 league or the 20:35-21.20 league.

All fixtures take place under floodlights on one our 3G artificial pitch at Longbenton Sports Ground. 

All players must have a SPORT Membership

League format

16 teams take part in the Intramural 7s league, split into two divisions of eight.

Fixtures are 40 minutes long, with 2 x 20 minute halves. All teams play each other once. Once all the league fixtures have been played, the top four teams from all divisions qualify for the knockout play-offs.

All games are assigned Northumberland FA qualified referees with each team rwquired to pay a weekly £7 referee fee.

At the end of each term, the winning team comes away with a shiny crystal trophy, Medals and Voucher for the team. As well as a place in Intramural history.

Leagues reset at the beginning of each term.

Looking to join a team?

Teams will run pre-seasons, open training sessions and trials in Freshers Week and early October - all new players looking for a team should contact the captains directly via the contacts tab listed below. It is still possible to join a team once the season has started, you should contact the captain to discuss if a team has space for additional players.
