A second home
What surprised me about Newcastle is how peaceful the city is, with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. At the same time, the passion for football here is incredible, with dedicated fans creating an exciting energy. It's inspiring to see how everyone embraces life and enjoys it, which motivates me to do the same.
Newcastle truly feels like a second home, with its accessibility, vibrant student life and the amazing friends I’ve made along the way.
Support at a stressful time
After arriving in the UK, I faced a challenging situation when my father fell ill and had to be hospitalised, creating a need for me to fly back to India. However, I had assignments that needed to be submitted.
I reached out to Student Wellbeing, and their guidance provided me with the clarity and support I needed. Mental health is crucial while studying, and the University's team has been incredibly supportive in helping me navigate through difficult times.
I am currently doing an internship as a machine learning intern with Train Air Ltd. I secured this opportunity through the NCL Internship Scheme.
My future career aspirations
In the future, I see myself working as a machine learning engineer or data scientist, specialising in AI applications within industries such as healthcare or automotive. I aim to leverage my skills to tackle real-world problems, contribute to innovative projects and drive advancements in data science.
The University’s support services, such as career advice, internships, and networking opportunities, have further clarified my career path. Additionally, the exposure to cutting-edge research and real-world applications of AI has inspired me to pursue research in the field.
